A new regional institute in Scania
We head today into a new area. In Europe alone there are some 120 regions with different backgrounds. The regional aspects of culture, business and the democratic institutions are becoming more and more important. The objectives of SRI will be to achieve a natural position in the new Europe for our region, comprising the counties Halland, Scania, Blekinge and Bornholm.

On the 1st January 1998 an Institute called Scanian Regional Institute, SRI, was founded. SRI will openly and offensively work with influencing the public opinion on every level and area in the society. SRI's work will be directed to the region's cultural life, research community and the business and financial sectors.
